M/Y Global (ex- Kismet 68-meter) underwent a maintenance period at ICON Yachts shipyard as she prepared for her Caribbean season. She took only 6 days to reach ICON’s Harlingen yard, from Ibiza.
The work included full hull and underwater servicing, exterior paint repairs and antifouling, engineering works and interior details — all to be turned around in a very short space of time. As ICON Yachts Project Manager, Frank Mens explains, ‘We managed to complete a lot of work which normally would take about 6 weeks; we did it in 3 weeks during the dry dock period. We worked weekends and double shifts to make sure we delivered on time’.
The Captain of M/Y Global mentioned, ‘We were very well welcomed by the entire team at ICON, the refit process so far has been very smooth. Anytime there was an issue, the staff were always available and all problems that arised have been resolved, we are very happy with the service and team’.
Owners Representative, Carolyn Clark stated ‘the ICON team are a pleasure to work with, always willing to assist in any way possible’.
